Reducing Risks - Laguna and Angono

This video shows how the local governments and the people of Angono in Rizal and Laguna have learned their lessons after Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy) devastated the country in 2009. Three years after, LGUs are now more prepared and more resilient against disasters. This is a concrete example how the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010, a law that emphasizes preparedness and mitigation, developing the capacity of the local government and communities, the proper use of resources and an engaged civil society have enabled the people to better cope with the destructiveness of last month’s Habagat floodings.
